Forest Homeschool
Forest Homeschool is a seasonal homeschool enrichment program for children 7+ that honors the foundational principles of forest schooling while embracing a broader vision - using nature as a dynamic classroom to connect academic learning, with rich, nature rooted experiences. Across multiple seasons, children deepen their connection to the natural world through curiosity, exploration, and hands-on discovery.

Mini Monet
The phrase 'en plein air' simply means 'in the open air'. We will embrace the spirit of the 1800's & practice mindful attention to natural light and shadows, all within the natural beauty of the farm & forest. Each session will cover art history in the study of a famous painter, color theory, Waldorf based form drawing, & a guided painting session. Students will paint outdoors with individual easels & watercolor palettes, while also exploring other mediums of interest throughout the year. Each student will receive a watercolor sketch pad to take home for extended practice. All group paintings will be saved for our final gallery celebration in May.

Forest Kindergarten
Sow the seeds of creativity, curiosity, and exploration as we venture into the forest and discover the wonders of the natural world together.
Our Forest Kindergarten is a seasonal, Waldorf-inspired program designed for children ages 4–6. For seven beautiful years, it has been my joy and honor to guide this rhythm of outdoor learning—rooted in imagination, storytelling, practical work, and deep connection to the land. Though I will not be leading the program in the upcoming school year, its spirit continues. A curriculum memoir will be published in Autumn 2026 with the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America to inspire future educators and families to carry learning into the forest.
We are also delighted to share that a cherished member of our community has launched her own microschool here at Ladybug Farm—Pine Trails Montessori—serving the age group I am no longer able to reach. It is a gift to see the seeds planted here continue to grow in new and beautiful ways.
